A number of civil and media activists arrested and summoned in different cities of Iran

Following the ongoing violations of human rights in Iran, three media activists and civil activists critical of the Islamic Republic’s government were arrested in Tehran and Ahvaz in recent days, and two human rights activists were summoned to khuzestan judicial authorities.

According to reliable human rights sources, two Ahwazi Arab bloggers and media activists, Reza Bavi and Fouad Sadeghi, were arrested by security agents on October 30, 2020, at Tehran International Airport (Imam) and the next day on October 31, 2020, Kamal Hosseini in front of Chamran University in Ahvaz.

Human rights sources have stated that the Irgc Intelligence Organization is responsible for the arrests.

The homes of the above-mentioned detainees have also been searched, and confiscated, as well as insulting their families.

The reasons for his arrest, the charges brought against him, and the status of the three civil and media activists have not been identified, but reports indicate that Reza Bavi had a previous arrest during anti-government protests in Khuzestan in 2019.

It has also been reported that two Ahwazi Arab human rights activists, Reza Kuti and Karim Albushukat, were also summoned to Branch Two of the Islamic Revolutionary Court of Ahvaz on Monday, November 3, and must appear before the judicial authorities within five days.

In recent days, a large number of political and civil activists, journalists, students, labour activists, as well as a number of bloggers critical of the government have been summoned, kidnapped and detained, according to human rights sources, the fate of many of them is still unknown.
